NATHAN CARDY

Nathan Cardy, PhD is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist working in Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics.

Nathan has a background in both hospital based physiotherapy (2011 - 2015) and academic research (2015 - 2019). Nathan's research in joint injury - specifically looking at cartilage injury of the knee has set him apart as an expert in sports surgery rehab. Currently working in Private Practice, Nathan also works with amateur and professional athletes across multiple sports - Nathan has been a lead physio for Irish Rugby & Leinster Rugby development teams and has held both rehab roles and traveling physio roles across multiple Irish Rugby squads (mens and womens) since 2021.

Nathan has completed multiple post graduate traning courses in orthopaedics, manual therapy, dry needling and sports trauma. He has also taught on the Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Modules to physiotherapy students at Trinity College Dublin. He continues a Lead Physio role with Old Wesley RFC and Rathgar HC, alongside multiple team affiliations.

Nathan currently sits on The Board of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and holds the position of ISCP Vice President 2024-2026. Nathan continues to contribute to international discussion, research and teaching in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Eduard Mias

Ed Mias is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist with advanced specialist training in sports medicine.

Ed has over 20 years of clinical experience and more than 15 years embedded within elite international sport environments. He has extensive experience supporting athletes and teams across Olympic programmes, international rugby and world-class athletics, including roles with the Irish Rugby Football Union, British Athletics and the English Institute of Sport.

Ed is a recognised specialist with expertise in accelerated rehabilitation, running mechanics integration and neuromuscular assessment, with a strong focus on bridging gym-based rehabilitation to high-speed sport performance. Ed is highly experienced working with professional athletes to achieve high performing return to play following lower limb injuries. He has a strong focus on injury prevention and applied research with evidence based return-to-play strategies for athletes competing at every level including at Olympic Games, Rugby World Cups and international championships.

Ed is a regular contributor to academic teaching, research and professional education in sports rehabilitation and performance. He has developed multiple clinical protocols across many sports organisations and has completed an international fellowship in ACL injury prevention and rehabilitation.
