Pre-Operative Rehab (Prehab)

Prior to any orthopaedic surgery, it is important to build up strength and prepare well for the procedure.

Prehab involves preparation for surgery and planning for what will happen in the early stages following an operation - to facilitate a faster recovery.

Post-Operative Rehab

Each Orthopaedic Surgery involves a number of stages of rehab. The most common stages in rehab are:

  1. Return to Function (early healing); weaning off crutches / arm sling etc.

  2. Developing strength and control; muscle training and coordination / balance exercises.

  3. Return to Work / Sports; specific rehab to get back to and surpass your performance before surgery or injury.

Return to Sports / Function

Specific training and planning is required to return to sports participation following surgery. This is tailored to each client and involves specific training with a gradual return to training and then match-play or tournaments, in a safe and monitored way.
